Browns Bonds Hill Collection Launches NEW Fine Dining Restaurant in the most spectacular location
Eighteen Ninety Four Restaurant & Wine Bar, Portstewart
Multi award-winning Browns Bonds Hill Collection has opened a new restaurant in Portstewart. The new restaurant is called Eighteen Ninety Four and has been billed as “Browns Bonds Hill’s little sister – and she’s a beauty”. The Browns Bonds Hill Collection has become synonymous with fine dining, each of the restaurants have their own style and personality, but with quality food and service always at the core.
Eighteen Ninety Four is perched in the most idyllic location overlooking Portstewart Strand on the Causeway Coast, the restaurant is modern, but not too formal, which creates a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy the only fine dining restaurant in Portstewart.
Eighteen Ninety Four serves an à la carte evening menu and a set Sunday lunch menu featuring the freshest seasonal, local produce. Chef Patron Ian Orr and his team are renowned for classic cooking, using modern techniques to really wow guests not only with sublime food, but with a relaxed, attention to detail experienced service and fine wine pairings. This winning formula, tried and tested in the other restaurants; Brown Bonds Hill, Browns in Town and Ardtara Country House has proven a big hit with diners since opening the doors in February 2020.
Dominic Kearney visited the restaurant within weeks of opening to dine in the style he had become accustomed to from his experiences with the collection’s other restaurants, and he was not disappointed:
“The first thing you notice is the fantastic setting, high above Portstewart Strand, looking out over the Atlantic. The second thing you appreciate is how they have made the most of the setting. The restaurant is on the first floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide a fantastic view of the ocean. The restaurant is open and expansive, with a real sense of space and place, unlike at Bonds Hill, which is much more intimate and enclosed.
One similarity with the Derry HQ, though, is the quality of the cooking. The menu combines the delicacy and flair of Bonds Hill with the down-to-earth nature of Brown’s in Town. The food is both robust and refined, and all delivered with the usual high standards associated with chef patron, Ian Orr.” Read the full review from Dominic Kearney, Irish News – click here
Marcus Roulston, Managing Director of Browns Bonds Hill Collection said “This has been a great business move for the local area, the marriage of two high quality, respected national brands; Browns Bonds Hill Collection and Portstewart Golf Club. Our restaurant, Eighteen Ninety Four, has taken a long term lease on the first floor restaurant area from the club, we have acquired our own separate restaurant licence and entrance at the front of the building so the general public and our loyal customers can visit us without being members of the golf club. We have been overwhelmed by the volume of bookings since opening the doors and have gone over and beyond to ensure compliance with social distancing guidelines and protection of our staff and customers from Covid-19. We recommend that reservations are made well in advance to avoid disappointment and look forward to welcoming local residents, visitors to the area and members of the club.”
